When you combine cannabis+sex what you get is Lavinia. A product that busts myths, challenges taboos, and at the end of the day makes the world a better place. Sex is a taboo topic, without even mentioning cannabis. Lavinia’s oh.hi is a cannabis-infused lube that intensifies sexual pleasure through vasodilation. Frequent and intense orgasms is what you get when there’s increased blood flow below the belt, says the expert.
In this brief interview, the founder and CEO of Lavinia narrates her journey into the cannabis industry as she challenges cannabis and sex taboos with her unconventional and revolutionary product.
The cannabis industry is one that many would rather not associate with. How did your career path lead you here?
I’m really passionate about cannabis. I was training for my second marathon a few years ago. During my first marathon, I injured myself and had a terrible time recovering. For my second one, I was determined to not have the same experience. So, I looked into different methods of recovery and learned about the healing benefits of cannabis. I started to incorporate cannabis in my recovery and I haven’t looked back. When I researched the history of cannabis, I realized there was a negative smear campaign against the plant in the 1930s. They actually rebranded it and started calling it marijuana and began spreading a lot of misinformation. Cannabis has been around forever and was actually even prescribed by doctors. The issue was they didn’t have a way to control the potency. That’s why doctors began prescribing pharmaceutical drugs instead of cannabis. I’m so proud to be part of this industry and to educate people about the healing power of cannabis.
Introduce Lavinia and what the company is doing, briefly.

“Sex and Orgasm” is not a conventional subject in many circles. Has it been difficult to talk about your products and put them out on the market?
Yes, we’re working in two very historically taboo industries. We’re trying to normalize healthy discussions on both subjects.
While 90% of men experience orgasm during sex, only 50% of women do. What do you think of this trend?
The famous orgasm gap. I’m not a man so I don’t know what it’s like to have sex as one, but I do know what it’s like as a woman and it can be challenging. A lot of factors have to be ‘just right’ in order to have a really strong and fulfilling climax. Products that are vasodilators, like our lube oh.hi, really help. They promote increased blood flow which helps women achieve really strong, intense orgasms. I found personally when I began to masturbate that it helped me a lot to figure out what I enjoyed when I was having sexual encounters with partners. I was able to learn what I liked privately and was able to bring that into the bedroom with a partner. It also allowed me to be less in my head and more in the moment.
You believe that intense and fulfilling orgasms are within the reach of everyone. Should everyone be able to orgasm using your products?
We know that a really satisfying sexual experience is available to everyone. Cannabis is a vasodilator. A good example of this is when you smoke and your eyes turn red. The size of the blood vessels are increasing, which is causing increased blood flow. The same thing happens below the belt. Increased blood flow is how women have really strong intense orgasms and how men get erections. The increased blood flow should lead to a heightened touch and experience.
The cannabis industry is poised for explosive growth in the next couple of years. At the same time, competition is at an all-time high. How are you intending to maintain your market dominance?
We’re in R&D as we speak to develop new very innovative products. I don’t worry too much about competition, I just focus on what we’re doing and how we can help people have really amazing sexual experiences.
The cannabis and CBD space is evolving at an unprecedented rate. What are some of your personal predictions for the industry in 2022?
The cannabis and CBD space is a really exciting space to be in. With the growing legalization of cannabis, I’m hopeful that there will be more and more scientific research about cannabis and CBD that will debunk a lot of the misinformation out there.
In terms of regulation, what is the one thing that you would like to see change in the industry?
It’s so expensive to produce any cannabis products. Our product goes through three phases of testing before it’s released to the public. That’s great in that we know we’re delivering a quality product, but it’s so expensive. Then, you add a 27% tax and cannabis products become even more expensive. The plant helps so many people and I would like to see it become more affordable for the consumer.
What’s next for Lavinia?
As I said earlier, our goal is to enhance individual’s sex lives through cannabis. It’s a big mission but one we’re passionate about.
